For a quarter of a century, Phil Danaher has been designing and building hockey sticks for players of all levels and all surfaces. As a sports equipment designer, Phil experimented with many different materials and combinations. He pushed the limits of conventional design to best suit the player for the changes in rules and playing surfaces over the years. Several of the innovations designed by Phil have shown up as part of sticks all over the world. Among the most notable designs were the synthetic core shaft and the stick grip in the mid 1980's. During the 1990's Phil was mixing his own resins and utilized different types of wood in the heads of sticks, combating the severe wear due to sand based turf. This was also a time when the back side channel was first used on sticks to promote a better balance and lighter feel. The evolution of field hockey sticks over the last twenty years has been amazing. Still on the cutting edge of stick design, Phil is now introducing his own line of field hockey sticks.
